The Lingap Center provides hope for children who have suffered from child abuse, abandonment, neglect, or exploitation in Toledo City, Cebu, Philippines. The Center is a save haven for kids who would might otherwise be in life-threatening situations.
The Lingap Center is a residential-care facility which opened in March 2006. It has the capacity of serving 132 children between the ages of six and 18. A dedicated staff ensures that the kids eat three nutritional meals a day, attend school and church helping them to build a strong foundation in their faith and spiritual needs. They participate in numerous religious and community activities. One of the goals of the Center is to help the children become strong -contributing citizens in the community in which they will live. For the first time in many of their lives, the children have access to health care and counseling services. They also have time to play and just be “kids.”
Many generous donors have made serving these children possible.
Some children stay at the Center for a short time, others, depending on individual circumstances, live at the Center until they reach adulthood. Our “Place at the Table” sponsorship program ensures that no child in need will ever be turned away.
