Los requisitos para bautizar son:

Padres:

• Ser miembros activos de una iglesia católica. Si no pertenecen a Transfiguración, presentar una carta de su parroquia autorizando el bautizo de su niño en Transfiguración.
• Certificado del nacimiento del bebé.
• Completar el formulario de bautizo.
• Asistir a la clase de bautizo en Transfiguración.

Padrinos:

• Ser miembros activos de una iglesia católica. Si no pertenecen a Transfiguración, presentar una carta de su parroquia verificando que son elegibles para ser padrinos.
• Ser mayores de 18 años y estar confirmados.
• Si son casados, debe ser por la iglesia Católica. Presentar certificado de matrimonio.
• Asistir a la clase de bautizo. Si no es en Transfiguración, presentar certificado de la parroquia donde recibió la clase.

Recomendaciones:

• Las clases de Bautizo para padres y padrinos son de 9:00 am – 12:00 pm en el Salón Adult Lounge en el 2do. piso.
• No ofrecemos servicio de guardería el día de la clase. Por favor no traiga niños para que todos los participantes puedan aprovechar la enseñanza.
• La celebración del sacramento comienza a las 10:00 am en punto. Favor de llegar a la iglesia 20 minutos antes.
• Recuerde la solemnidad de la ocasión y vista apropiadamente, evitando los escotes y ropa muy corta.

Para recibir el Sacramento de la Primera Comunión, las familias deben estar inscritas en la parroquia. La preparación dura dos años consecutivos en clases de catecismo. Estas sesiones se ofrecen martes, miércoles y domingo. Por lo general los niños empiezan su preparación cuando están en primer grado. Estos cursos son en inglés. Formación en la fe.

When parents feel their child is ready, they will enter the preparation period for Sacraments. As you prepare your child for the Sacrament and decide when he/she is ready, please contact Sheila Murray, smurray@transfiguration.com to meet and discuss their preparation and schedule a date for reception of the Sacraments.

As you consider preparing your child for a Sacrament, the most important preparation includes coming to Mass, praying at home, participating in Our Great Journey Family Faith sessions, sharing faith at home.  

Below are the details and dates for the immediate preparation for the Sacraments: 

Reconciliation: We receive God’s forgiveness and Jesus’ healing grace. Forgiveness requires being sorry for our sins.  

• The discernment process may begin as early as 1st grade. This process must include participation in 1 complete year of Family Faith Formation. 
• The immediate preparation year begins the following August after 1 full year of discernment and Faith Formation participation is complete. The earliest grade that immediate preparation can begin is 2nd grade.  

• Complete the registration form for Reconciliation. 
• Reconciliation workbook – complete the Reconciliation workbook at home with your child 
• Each family will be assigned a Sacrament Mentor who will contact you throughout the discernment and preparation.
• Participate in the Reconciliation Retreat with your child.
• When your child is ready to receive the Sacrament of God’s Forgiveness, your Sacrament Mentor to set up a time to review preparation and schedule a date for Reconciliation. 
• Options for celebrating the Sacrament of Reconciliation: 

• Advent Penance Service
• There will be a communal Reconciliation service for children & families
• Any time confession is celebrated, currently Tuesdays, 5 pm and Saturdays, 3:30 pm 

 Eucharist: In the Eucharist, we receive the Body and Blood of Christ to nourish our life of faith. 

• Preparation for Reconciliation is required prior to preparation for First Eucharist. The earliest grade that immediate preparation can begin is 2nd grade. 
• Complete the registration form for First Eucharist and submit a copy of the Baptismal certificate if your child was not baptized at Transfiguration. 
• Participate in the First Eucharist Retreat with your child.
• First Eucharist workbook – complete the First Eucharist workbook at home with your child. 

• When your child is ready to receive the Sacrament of Eucharist, contact your Sacrament Mentor, to set up a time to review preparation and schedule a date for First Communion. 
• First Communions will be celebrated at all Masses the second Sunday of each month, year round. Depending on the date of Easter, the First Communion Mass may change Sundays.

There is a First Reconciliation preparation fee of $30 and a First Eucharist preparation fee of $30 ($60 for both Sacraments) to cover the additional costs (workbooks, activity supplies, certificates, refreshments, etc). This is in addition to the regular Faith Formation registration fee.

2022_2023 – Confirmation Info dates

Programa de Preparación para la Confirmación

Se ofrece formación de Confirmación para adultos una vez al año. Se necesita el certificado del bautismo y un padrino que esté confirmado, esté inscrito en una iglesia católica y cumpla los requisitos necesarios.

Son 7 sesiones incluyendo un retiro mandatorio,  que debe  completarse  para  recibir el sacramento el Domingo de Pentecostés.

Registro de Confirmación de Adulto

Las parejas que desean casarse deben asistir a una entrevista con el sacerdote, quien  busca identificar las necesidades e inquietudes de la pareja.

• Se ofrece un programa de preparación para el matrimonio.
• Se necesitan por lo menos 6 meses previos a la boda para entregar los documentos, completar la preparación y traer los requisitos que son:
• Certificado de bautizo de los dos. (Actualizado por lo menos de 6 meses).
• Certificados de testigos notariados y Licencia de matrimonio.
• Si ya contrajo matrimonio Civil incluya el certificado.
