
Director of Religious Education and Youth Ministry:
Joyce Guris
Joyce and her family came to us from New Jersey where she was Director of Religious Education at St. Mark's Church in Long Valley, NJ. She has a B.S. in Elementary Education from Trenton State and an M.Ed. from the University of Delaware in College Counseling and Staff Personnel Administration. Joyce became Director of Youth Ministry in August 1996.
Assitant Director of PREP:
Mike Ragan
Assistant Director of PREP, Mike was born and raised in Canton, Georgia and received a B.A. in Religious Studies from Georgia State University and a Masters of Theological Studies from Spring Hill College in 2003. He has spent the past 12 years working with teens as the Director of Youth Ministry at Holy Family and teacher of theology at St. Joseph Catholic School in Marietta. In 1997 he was baptized at the Easter Vigil at St. Joseph’s Church. He and his wife, Lisa, reside in Woodstock with their 2 daughters.


Adult Education/PREP Administrator:
Rita Norman
Rita is the PREP Administrator. Rita is a native of Atlanta and has been a member of Transfiguration for over 23 years. Rita and her husband have 2 grown children now living in Charlotte, NC. She has volunteered over the years with our High School program and more recently taught 7th & 8th grade classes on Wednesday evening. She was an Executive Assistant and Office Manager for a Media Consulting firm before joining our staff in September 2003. She is excited about using her talents to serve our awesome parish.
Youth Minister:
Sheila Murray
Sheila has been a member of Transfiguration since her childhood, and is a ChrisTeen alum. Prior to taking the position of Youth Ministry Coordinator, she was a volunteer for ChrisTeen and served as the Chair of the Youth Ministry Board. Sheila believes firmly that the youth are the Church of today, not of tomorrow. She strives to provide ample opportunities for the youth of the parish to encounter Christ through fellowship with each other, in prayer, and through serving others. Sheila is currently studying in the Spring Hill College Lay Ecclesial Ministry Certificate Program.


Youth Minister:
Breon Haskett
Retired Master Gunnery Sergeant Haskett was born in Hampton, Virginia. He enlisted in the Marine Corps in 1986. In January 1996, Breon distinguished himself as Regional and National recruiter of the year, and was promoted to the grade of Gunnery Sergeant. After assignments in Florida, Georgia, California, and Virginia, Master Gunnery Sergeant Haskett retired from his beloved Marine corps in July of 2010. Retired Master Gunnery Sergeant Haskett's personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal with one gold star, Navy Marine Corps Commendation Medal with two gold star (in lieu of third award), and the Navy Marine Corps Achievement Medal with gold star (in lieu of second award). Breon is married to Lisa and they have three children, Alyssa, Elise, and Breon Jr. He is a proud member of the Knights of Peter Claver and The Knights of Columbus. He has a Bachelors in Business Administration, Six Sigma Green Belt Certification, Master level certification in Sales training and Coaching, and is currently pursuing his Master of Arts, with a Major in Leadership. Breon states "as a committed Catholic Christian I find this opportunity to serve the parish youth of Transfiguration exciting."
ChrisTeen Secretary:
Penny Fitzpatrick
ChrisTeen Secretary Penny has been a member of Transfiguration since 1992. She has 3 children. She was the founding president of Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary. She is involved in many ministries at Transfiguration including Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary.


PREP Secretary:
Gloria Nolasco
Gloria was born in Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic and attended an all girls Catholic school. She moved to the United States in 1992, after marrying her husband, Esteban. They joined Transfiguration in 1998 when the Spanish Ministry began. Gloria is an active volunteer in Hispanic Ministry and she and her husband have been integrally involved in Marriage Encounter for 6 years. Her teens are involved in ChrisTeen… and their family loves the Braves! Gloria joined the staff in October 2009. Stop by the PREP desk to meet Gloria and say, “Hi” or “Hola!”
Sunday Morning Pre-school Coordinator:
Cindy Deady
Cindy and her husband Dave moved to the Atlanta area in 1994 from Evanston, Illinois. They have been members of Transfiguration since 1995 with their 5 children. Cindy has experience working with special needs preschool for Cobb County as a substitute teacher, taught 2 and 3 year old preschool at Noonday Baptist Church, and has loved volunteering here at Transfiguration. She has been on staff in the parish nursery since 1998 and feels blessed to be working with young children now as the Sunday Morning Preschool Coordinator.
