Pastor:

Monsignor Patrick Bishop

Monsignor Bishop was born in Atlanta, Georgia, on January 13, 1946. He attended Marietta High School and the University of Georgia. His degrees include a B.S. in History from Brescia College in Owensboro, Kentucky; a Masters of Divinity from St. Mary's Seminary in Baltimore, Maryland; and a M.Ed.Adm. from Georgia State University in Atlanta. Monsignor Bishop was ordained a priest on May 18, 1974, for the Archdiocese of Atlanta and became Pastor of Transfiguration on October 12, 1989.  He is the proud owner of five bassets – Lulu, Lollipop, Cokey, Cinnamon and Darla.

Deacon Jim Easterwood

Deacon Jim was ordained as a deacon on May 23, 1977, at Transfiguration. He served as a Deacon at Transfiguration and then transferred to Our Lady of LaSalette in Canton. He and his wife returned to Transfiguration in 2007. Deacon Jim is active in our Ministry of Caring.

Deacon Tom Coffey

Tom was ordained a Permanent Deacon on January 18, 1992, in Dallas, TX. Since ordination, Tom has been assigned to parishes in the diocese of Dallas, TX; Jackson, MS; San Jose, CA; and the Archdiocese of Minneapolis-St Paul, MN as well as our own Archdiocese of Atlanta. 

Deacon Tom has a special interest in adult education, social justice issues and sacramental preparation programs. He was previously assigned to our parish from 1998-2001.

Tom and his wife, Teresa live in West Cobb County. They have three children and four grandchildren, and a West Highland Terrier named Duncan. Both Teresa and Tom come from large families, Teresa is the second youngest of eleven children, and Tom is the oldest of seven. As a result, they have numerous brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews and cousins, many of whom live in the Atlanta area, and even some who are registered here in our parish!

Deacon Jose Espinosa

Deacon José was born in Caracas, Venezuela. He and his wife have been married for 24 years and have one son. His mothers and sisters, as well as the mother and sister of his wife, also live in Venezuela.     He obtained a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering at Northeastern University in Boston in 1983 and has spent 25 years with the General Electric Co. from local field engineer to regional service manager to global logistics manager. His hobbies are reading and music.

Deacon Paul Gorski

Deacon Paul Gorki was born and raised in North Haven, Connecticut. He received a BS degree in Civil Engineering from Virginia Military Institute and a MS in Construction/Project Management from George Washington University. He is also a graduate of the Army’s Command and General Staff College.  He was ordained a Permanent Deacon in the Archdiocese of Atlanta on 7 February 2009. Paul and his wife, Elise, live in East Cobb County. They have three children and one grandchild.  After retiring from the Army, Deacon Paul and his family moved to Atlanta in 1994. They have been members of Transfiguration for fifteen years.  Deacon Paul has an interest in the Ministry of Caring and the Adult Education program as well as in working with the extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist and in the training of our Altar Servers.

Pastor's Administrative Assistant:

Linda Rega

Linda Rega is the Pastor’s Administrative Assistant. She moved here from NY in 1993, where she was an Assistant Manager at the Bank of New York. She has been a member of Transfiguration since 1994, and joined our staff in 1997, starting in the Day Care dept. She is married and has one son.

Deacon Phil Miles

Finance Director, Phil was born in the Philadelphia area and moved to Lawrenceville, Georgia in 1979. He and his wife, Eileen, have two children and three grandchildren. Phil was employed by the Archdiocese of Atlanta in the finance office for 26 years before joining the staff at Transfiguration Catholic Church. He is currently in the Diaconate formation program and hopes to be ordained in 2010. He also enjoys acting in community theater and playing at golf.

Marie Fick

Marie was our Parish Secretary from 1993 to 2003.  In 2003, Marie became the Pastor's Secretary, then in 2005 became theAssistant Director of Human Resources.  In 2007, Marie has moved to the position of Pastoral Assistant.  Since coming to Transfiguration, Marie's duties have include putting together the parish weekly bulletin, serving as our receptionist and a Director of Ceremonies. A native of Minnesota, Marie and her husband have lived in Georgia since 1990

Yolanda Berrios

Yolanda Berrios is the Director of Hispanic Pastoral Ministries at Transfiguration Catholic Church. She is a native of Bogota Colombia, South America. She earned her degree in Education and Social Studies from the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Bogotá. She worked for the Catholic Social Services for many years. She has worked as an advocate of the Hispanic Community in different capacities to help provide a variety of mainstream services such as health, finances, self-esteem, job search workshops and seminars. Agencies she interfaced with to aid in this effort are St.Vincent De Paul, United Way, and Merci Care among others. She and her family joined the Transfiguration Catholic Church in 1998, to participate in the Spanish Mass and contribute as a volunteer in different ministries. She is involved in educational, professional and personal seminars, liturgy workshops, and sacrament preparation.

Deacon Dom Saulino

Deacon Dom was born in Youngstown, Ohio, the youngest of three children.  His father was a police officer with the city adn his mother worked in the home.  He married his wife Judi in 1982.  Their daughter Lauren was born 5 years later and teh Saulino family moved to Atlanta in 1994.  Dom has a B.S. in Civil Engineering and he is presently the Transportation Dept. Manager & Assoc. V.P. with HNTB Corp. He enjoys spending time with his family, fishing, and golf.  Dom was ordained to the Permanent Deaconate in 2012.

Deacon Ed Santa

Deacon Ed was born in Providence, Rhode Island and was raised in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida which he claims as home. He and his wife Linda have been married for 26 years they have five children, Lisa, Suzanna, and Cynthia, Shelia and Shaun and five grandchildren. Upon his retirement in 1988 from the Army the family moved to Kennesaw.

He attended Loyola University, New Orleans.  He received his D.D.S. from Loyola University, in Chicago. Post graduate Dental residency, Madigan Army Medical Center, Tacoma Washington. He is also a Graduate of the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College.

He was ordained a Permanent Deacon in the Archdiocese of Atlanta on February 11, 2012.  Deacon Ed is open to the needs of the Parish community. “I have an open heart and I am willing to share my journey and the lessons I’ve learned.” Specific ministries in which he is presently involved are the ministry of caring, social justice, and sacramental preparation. Linda and Ed participate in supporting the families and friends of those suffering from the disease of addiction.
