
Music and Liturgy Co-Director:
Rod Voss
Our Director of Liturgy grew up on a farm in South Dakota. He earned his B.A. in Piano Performance at North Dakota State University, and a B.S. in Accounting from Moorhead State University in Minnesota. Rod's been in church music ministry for over 20 years and was a professional rock musician for 6 years. Rod was the producer/arranger of four Transfiguration CDs which are available from the parish office. He came to us in 1992 from the Diocese of Crookston, Minnesota, where he was Music Director and Parish Administrator at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception.
Music and Liturgy Co-Director:
Lucas McHenry
Lucas graduated from Reinhardt College with a Bachelor of Arts in Music with the primary focus on Piano Performance and Piano Pedagogy. He received Superior ratings as winner of the Georgia Music Teacher Association local auditions in 1998, 1999 and 2001. He was the guest artist for the Cherokee Music Teachers Association's 12th Annual Awards Ceremony in 2003. In 1998 and 1999, he performed in master classes for Frank Wiens and Tom Pearsall. Lucas received scholarships from The Steinway Corporation in New York in both 2001 and 2004. He remembers attending mass at Transfiguration when he was in high school and college and thinking how wonderful it would be if one day he could do what Rod Voss was doing. Lucas and his wife Samantha live in Canton, Georgia.


Liturgy Department Administrator:
Kathy Montag
Kathy and her husband, Jack, and their 3 children, moved to Kennesaw in 2002 and have been members of the parish for 6 years. Kathy was born in Miami, Florida and graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Science degree in Advertising. She will soon begin working on her Master’s Degree in Theology through Spring Hill College.
After earning her advertising degree, she worked in the highly competitive tourism industry. She is familiar with event planning, making presentations, managing budgets and coordinating advertising and public relations efforts. She has volunteered in a variety of ministries that encompassed all facets of Catholicism.
Kathy is currently an 8th grade Catechist in our PREP program, grade level coordinator and also works with special needs elementary students. She has presented programs for Vacation Bible School, our Archdiocesan Catechist Day of Formation, and “Jesus and the Media” for ChrisTeen. She and her husband are also a sponsor couple for our marriage preparation program. Kathy has been very instrumental in our Digital Catechesis endeavors to bring new technology to our classroom and parish.
